Rayman Legends Retold will overhaul the original game’s audio with a rebuilt engine and 43 minutes of music not included in the original release, Ubisoft has announced. The remake will also feature newly recorded dialogue and support for modern surround-sound standards.
The original soundtrack, composed by Christophe Héral and Billy Martin, will remain almost entirely intact. New material includes additional Dragon Ride tracks, music for a new realm and new musical levels. Some of the orchestral pieces were recorded in Vienna with a 75-piece symphonic orchestra, while Grant Kirkhope has composed music for the newly introduced Land of the Livid Dead.
Returning musical stages will include “The Eye of the Tiger” and “Black Betty.” Ubisoft has also revealed a new level featuring a cover of “Macarena,” with further music-driven stages yet to be announced.
The updated audio framework adds positional sound, clearer separation between music, voices, ambience and effects, and changes intended to make sounds more distinct during gameplay. The game will also introduce a more prominent narrative tied to progression through its worlds, supported by new dialogue and character performances. David Gasman returns as Rayman and Billy West as Murphy.
Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition, included with Rayman Legends Retold, will receive a modernized audio engine, remastered sound assets, an updated mix and 5.1 surround-sound support. Rayman Legends Retold is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3, 2026.
