Nintendo says one actor selected for the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time also voiced the same character in the original Nintendo 64 game. The company has not identified the performer or the character.
HokWai Ng said the team’s priority during auditions was to find voices that matched the sound and feel of the original. Eiji Aonuma added that the Japanese auditions were conducted without revealing the actors’ names, so the team would judge the voices on their resemblance to the original performances. He said the returning actor’s identity came as a surprise to the team.
Some fans have speculated that Kaori Mizuhashi, who voiced Navi in the original game, could be returning as the fairy. Nintendo has not confirmed that speculation.
