Pikmin 4 has received version 2.0.0, an update that adds support for the upcoming Nintendo-switch-2/">Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and includes unspecified fixes to improve gameplay. The patch is available on both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.
On Switch 2, the title screen now includes an “About the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” option. Selecting it opens the upgrade pack page on Nintendo eShop. Players who have purchased the upgrade pack can begin playing on November 12, 2026.
The update also notes that an internet connection is required to take exams and download distributed stages for Dandori Academy in the Switch 2 Edition.
The Pikmin 4 demo has received the same version 2.0.0 changes. A separate Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy demo is also being distributed.
