The latest entry in a replay of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time focuses on the Spirit Temple, the final temple in the main quest. After finishing the Shadow Temple, the writer heads through Gerudo Desert to take on one of their favourite dungeons in the game, with five Sages already rescued.

The Spirit Temple is divided between Child Link and Adult Link. Child Link can explore its left side after speaking with Nabooru, while the right side becomes accessible to Adult Link with the Silver Gauntlets. The writer says this structure creates a sense of mystery, as part of the dungeon remains unexplored until Link can move the large rock blocking the entrance.

The Child Link section introduces the temple’s puzzles, including switches, sunlight and rooms with multiple entrances. The light challenges grow in complexity, progressing from revealing a switch to redirecting beams toward their targets. The section also features an Iron Knuckle fight and a dramatic moment involving Nabooru and the temple’s sisters.

For the writer, the Adult Link portion is where the dungeon’s design fully comes together. Returning to previously inaccessible areas and finally making use of the central colossus chamber makes progression feel rewarding. The puzzles build around the Mirror Shield, culminating in a sequence that redirects light through several rooms to lower a platform and illuminate the statue’s face.

The dungeon ends with a battle against Twinrova after another Iron Knuckle encounter. The writer enjoys the boss’s emphasis on solving puzzles, although reflecting the elemental attacks can be fiddly and the second phase slows the pace.

The article calls the Spirit Temple a standout dungeon, highlighting its two-Link structure and the way its sunlight puzzles develop. The main quest’s dungeons are now complete, with one final dungeon crawl planned for the series’ finale.
