Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 is getting a standalone physical release for Nintendo Switch from Limited Run Games, several years after its original launch. The previously released Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 package included the first collection on its cartridge, while the second was provided as a download code.
Three editions are planned: a standard release, a double pack with Mega Man X Legacy Collection, and a Maverick Hunter special edition with additional content. Pre-orders for the physical Nintendo Switch release open on November 12, 2026.
Legacy Collection 2 contains Mega Man X5, X6, X7 and X8, with players able to control X or Zero and use their respective weapons. It also includes an animated prequel film about the origins of Sigma, one of the series’ main villains.
Both collections feature X Challenge, a mode that pits players against two bosses at once, as well as a museum of franchise material, including production artwork, classic product catalogs and advertisements. The first collection covers Mega Man X through X4, spanning the series’ 16-bit era and its move to 32-bit.
