HoYoverse, the developer behind Genshin Impact, has announced that Petit Planet will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. An exact launch date has not yet been revealed.

Petit Planet is described as a cozy, free-to-play galactic life simulation game. Players become Planet Tenders and care for their own planet, gradually helping to build a galaxy by connecting with planets scattered across the Starsea.

Each player’s planet begins with a Luca Seed, which grows into a Luca Arbor and gradually influences the landscape, seasons, and ecosystem. Players will also meet characters including Planet Coordinator Mobai and Starsea Racer Elsasani, with additional Neighbors arriving over time. Developing relationships with these characters can lead to friendships and stories unique to the player’s experience.

Outside their home planet, players can travel across the Starsea to explore scattered Islets or visit the Galactic Bazaar. The bazaar includes activities such as games, auctions, and opportunities to share creations.

HoYoverse has also announced several promotional activities ahead of launch. Pre-registration on the official website includes a lucky draw, while regular gameplay will allow players to obtain more than 1,000 clothing and furniture items for free. The “Besties, Made to Match!” event will reward players who pre-register alongside two friends with an exclusive clothing item for each participant.

Starting November 1, the “Launch a Planet” event will let fans design planets through the official event website for a chance to win prizes. A Seasonal Creation Event will begin with the game’s launch, offering cash prizes, in-game rewards, and official merchandise for selected creations.
