The Robot Master reveals for Mega Man: Dual Override continue with the introduction of Cook Man, a wandering chef seeking recognition for his culinary skills. His pursuit of acknowledgment leads him to seize control of the game's oil storage facility.
The upcoming game will also feature Proto Man as a playable character alongside Mega Man. The returning warrior has his own abilities, giving players two distinct ways to approach the game's challenges.
Mega Man: Dual Override will introduce the Override system, allowing robots to temporarily exceed their normal capabilities. Once the effect ends, however, players will suffer a short-term performance loss, making the timing of each activation important.
A new Custom Chip system will let players personalize Mega Man and Proto Man with additional abilities. Available options include rapid-fire, a protective shield bubble and hovering, allowing players to create different combinations and adapt their playstyles.
The game will feature eight new Robot Masters, including Twinkle Girl, whose firework-inspired attacks bring a fiery presence to the battlefield. As in previous entries, players will be able to analyze defeated Robot Masters and convert their abilities into special weapons.
Special weapons will provide both offensive power and strategic benefits, but each use consumes energy. The new trailer offers a glimpse at one weapon with a powerful charge attack that can also function as an aerial dash.
The footage also appears to show Astro Man from Mega Man 8, raising the possibility that other classic Robot Masters could return. Further details have not been announced.
Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2027.
