Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 will carry the subtitle Sentinel, but the news does not appear to signal an imminent launch. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reportedly said the game is still “more than two years away.”

Bethesda first announced the single-player role-playing game at E3 2018. If it arrives more than two years from now, its release would come at least a decade after that announcement.

Schreier’s post reportedly suggested Bethesda wanted to balance its Fallout 76 announcement with the promise of another Elder Scrolls game focused on single-player. The long wait since then highlights how early announcements can leave players waiting years for a release.
