Following the recent launch of Oblivion Remastered and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary on the Switch 2, Bethesda is reportedly nearing a major announcement regarding the next installment in its flagship fantasy series. According to senior correspondent Tom Warren from The Verge, the upcoming title will be officially named The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.

Sources familiar with Bethesda's plans indicate that an official reveal could occur as early as next month. This timing would coincide with the 15th anniversary of the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The report follows earlier news from August, when Xbox head Asha Sharma was shown a live playthrough of the game and teased its title.

The new entry is set to take place in Hammerfell, a province previously featured in The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and The Elder Scrolls Online. Warren notes that Sentinel will be the first game in the series to focus on the history of the Elder Scrolls themselves, with gameplay centered on uncovering the secrets of these mysterious ancient artifacts.

The sixth major chapter has been in development for over eight years since its initial announcement. While no specific release date or confirmed platforms have been disclosed yet, recent reports suggest the project is in a respectable and playable state.
