The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo-switch-2/">Nintendo Switch 2 has received its first review score. In this week’s issue, Famitsu awarded the game ratings of 9, 9, 9 and 10 from its four reviewers, for a total of 37 out of 40.

The review highlights the remake’s smooth camera, improved controls and gameplay flow, as well as its graphics. It also describes the game as relatively simple compared with many modern titles and notes that players may sometimes be unsure how to proceed.

The score adds a new chapter to the game’s history with Famitsu: the original Nintendo 64 release received a perfect score from the magazine, becoming the first game to do so. Further review scores are expected, with a roundup planned as they become available.

The remake features overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, orchestral music, and revised camera and movement controls. Its ocarina melodies can be played or hummed near the Nintendo Switch 2’s built-in microphone, and the game also responds to instruments. Players can use the Zelda Notes service in the Nintendo Switch App to track their adventure, create and share melodies, and take a quiz with more than 2,000 questions.

Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo are scheduled to launch in 2027. They can unlock special masks with a retro graphical style, while other amiibo from The Legend of Zelda series can provide useful items.
