Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos is available on Nintendo-switch/">Nintendo Switch, with a release date of October 29, 2026. Developed by Titanium Studios and published by Argonaut Games, the remaster revisits the 1999 3D platformer with cleaner visuals and a range of quality-of-life changes.

The review describes the controls as more comfortable than those in the first Croc remaster, with analog movement and easier-to-time jumps. The camera can feel slow by modern standards, but the reviewer found it manageable after getting used to it.

The adventure is spread across four villages, with standard stages, Guardian battles and special Golden Gobbo levels. Players can search for Colored Crystals, Golden Gobbos and Jigsaw Pieces, take on varied objectives, and spend crystals at Swap Meet Pete’s shop. Racing and other special stages add variety to the platforming.

One notable improvement is that collected Colored Crystals remain saved if a player has to restart a level. In the original release, restarting meant collecting them again from scratch. The remaster also lets players switch between the original PS1, PC and remastered graphics, adjust options such as the soundtrack and draw distance, and browse a gallery of Croc-related media that unlocks as they play.

The review notes that the compact levels and straightforward platforming give the game an accessible rhythm, while its camera, mechanics and level design retain some rough edges. It presents the remaster as a charming return to a distinct era of 3D platformers rather than a newly discovered classic, with the updates helping preserve what made Croc 2 enjoyable while easing some of its original frustrations.
