Bethesda has confirmed that its next mainline Elder Scrolls game is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The name was revealed at the end of a video marking the company’s 40th anniversary, after some earlier leaks had pointed to Sentinel as the title.

The anniversary video looks back at Bethesda’s history, beginning with its 1986 release of Gridiron! and tracing the development of series including The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Starfield. The studio also highlights Skyrim, which it says remains its most-played game 15 years after launch, and recognizes the players and teams that have shaped its work.

Bethesda says it will continue working on the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises. The video does not provide a release date for Sentinel. The source article cites reports suggesting the game could arrive no earlier than 2028, but that timing has not been officially confirmed. It also notes that the video may indicate development has reached a playable stage, without presenting that as an official status update.
