The first wave of reviews for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake has arrived ahead of the game’s launch on November 5. The remake revisits the N64 classic with overhauled visuals and a range of changes and additions.

Nintendo says the release features fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, orchestral music, and revised camera and movement controls. Players can also perform learned ocarina songs by playing or humming near the Nintendo Switch 2’s built-in microphone, and the game responds to instruments.

The Zelda Notes service, available through the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices, includes adventure tracking, tools to create and share melodies, and a daily quiz with more than 2,000 questions. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo are planned for 2027 and can unlock masks with a retro graphical style; other Zelda series amiibo can provide useful items.

Among the scores published so far, Shacknews and Destructoid gave the remake 10 out of 10, while GamesRadar and Eurogamer awarded five out of five. IGN, GameSpot, and Nintendo Life scored it 9 out of 10, and Game Informer gave it 9.25 out of 10. Polygon’s review listing did not include a score.
