A datamine of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ 2.0.0 update has reportedly uncovered names that could point to characters planned for the game’s second year. The files were shared by VocaloidMikuBr, but the information has not been confirmed by Sega.
Among the entries are Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart, both associated with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC. The files also reportedly include a character named “Marisa,” prompting speculation about a possible Touhou collaboration, though the name’s connection to the series remains unclear.
Other names found in the files include Movie Sonic, Will—potentially the protagonist of Metaphor: ReFantazio—Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars, and Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter.
The datamine may not show everything SEGA has planned, and none of the listed characters has been officially announced. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
