Nintendo has joined the Accessible Games Initiative (AGI), bringing a new set of accessibility tags to the eShop. Players can select a tag from the eShop Tags page to find games that offer the corresponding feature.
The tags cover options including Narrated Menus, Full Input Remapping, Large Text, Save Anytime and Playable with Buttons Only. Other tags identify features such as camera comfort, color alternatives, difficulty levels, volume controls, and play without motion controls, touch controls or rapid button presses.
The initiative was created by the Entertainment Software Association. Amazon Games, EA, Google, Xbox, Riot Games and Ubisoft have also adopted it. The AGI says its goal is to give players clear information about the accessibility features available in video games.
