Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 with two graphical modes, and a new comparison video shows how the port looks alongside the PS5 version.
Quality Mode runs at 1440p and targets 30 frames per second, while Performance Mode uses 1080p and targets 40 frames per second. However, the available comparison indicates that the game can struggle to maintain those targets on Nintendo’s new console.
Quality Mode may fall below its 30 FPS target even during sections with relatively few enemies. Performance Mode can also dip into the 30s, according to the comparison and the game’s review.
Visually, the Switch 2 version reportedly remains close to the PS5 release. Eidos-Montreal made relatively few graphical cuts to bring the game to the platform.
The Switch 2 release is the Encore Edition, which includes additional 1980s glam rock outfits for Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot. The game follows Star-Lord as he leads the Guardians through a cosmic adventure and features both exploration and action-focused combat.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5.
