Fans have created a small memorial outside Electronic Arts’ offices, placing tombstones for several studios the company has closed, including BioWare, Bullfrog, Pandemic, Origin, Visceral, Maxis and Westwood. Each marker lists the studio’s years of operation and includes a phrase linked to its history or games.
The BioWare tombstone lists the studio as operating from 1995 to 2026 and features a line from Mass Effect: “I had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.”
The creator of the memorial also said Mythic and Black Box deserved to be included. They criticized some of EA’s management decisions, which they believe contributed to the studios’ closures.
The tribute follows reports of planned EA layoffs and measures that include BioWare closing its doors.
